As you think about the team you lead, can you identify its weakest link?
You know, the one person who you’d let go if you’re forced to reduce your team by one.
For the person viewed as a weak link, take steps today to give that person needed help for tomorrow. It will make a difference to your organization’s future. And if that person has a personal improvement or development plan in place, I suggest you assist in taking it to a higher level.
Leadership Tip
Over the next three weeks, schedule an hour with your weakest employee and work on specific areas that need improving.
An alternative is to find someone else to work with that person to strengthen the performance of your weakest link. Remember, if he or she fails, you fail.
