May 6, 2014 – Denver, Colorado
The National Association of Workforce Development Professionals held their 25th annual conference on May 5th – 7th in Denver, Colorado. The conference education committee selected Randy Goruk, president of The Randall Wade Group and LeadersEdge360.com to present two leadership development workshops for their members.
Randy was pleased to have been selected. “I love presenting at the NAWDP conferences. The attendees are eager to learn and to share their experiences for the benefit of others. They are loving and caring good people”.
The first presentation / workshop, Employee Disengagement: The Dog That Will Bite You, was well received by attendees.
What most workforce development workers really want is a highly functional team that provides exceptional customer services. This objective is readily achieved with fully engaged employees. Employees that are engaged feel passionate about their jobs, are committed to the organization, and put discretionary effort into their work.
A disengaged employee will generate unexpected costs and unwelcomed turmoil. In today’s work environment, knowing what drives exceptional performance and employee engagement is critical to long term success.
In this highly interactive presentation, Randy shared the key drivers for engaging employees and the strategies, techniques and tips to achieve a fully engaged team.
The second presentation / workshop, Leadership Landmines That Will Rock Your World, was also a great success. One of the attendees commented; ‘This session alone was well worth the investment to come to Denver.’
Leaders are always looking for strategies, techniques and tips to help them grow professionally. They often over-look the ‘leadership landmines’ that could negatively impact their credibility, their authority and ultimately ruin their career and / or career advancement.
Leadership landmines are 100% controllable actions, inactions, behaviors and language which can negatively impact a leader’s ability to provide effective leadership.
Attendees were looking for ways to ‘navigate the rocky road’ of leadership, so Randy Goruk shared 19 – ‘leadership landmines’ to avoid and demonstrated how to avoid them.
It was an extremely interactive, high-energy, educational and fast-paced presentation.
