Feedback is Vital to Growth
For an individual and a company to grow, everyone needs feedback on their performance – good or bad.
You can’t improve if you don’t have someone objectively evaluating your performance. And if don’t improve, your contribution to the organizations success is minimized.
Some managers / leaders have a hard time delivering feedback to their employees – why I don’t know. They may tell you the good or soft stuff, but totally shy away from telling you about the opportunities for you to improve – the hard stuff.
If you are cheating others by not giving honest constructive feedback – like Randy Pausch received from Coach Graham pg. 36 – you should begin now. Find a way to deliver the important message of “here’s what you need to work on to get better” … as it is vital to the growth of the individual and the company.
