Which path are you on?
The path for having a great year, the path of mediocre results or the path of disaster.
This is a perfect time for leaders to reflect and ask great questions.
My leadership tip for you this week is to schedule some time to reflect on the results of the first quarter, determine which path you are on and make necessary adjustments for exceeding your goals.
If you’re not on the path for greatness, it’s OK, you still have time. Get your team together and ask yourselves a set of great questions. Here are a few examples to help you get started.
If we had the chance to do the last quarter over again;
What 3 – actions would we have taken to achieve better results … and why didn’t we?
What 1 or 2 actions did we take that we shouldn’t have taken … and why did we?
What 1 or 2 actions did we not take that we meant to take … and why didn’t we?
What are the 3 – most important course corrections we need to make to get back on the path of achieving our goals?
If you’re on the path for greatness, congratulations. Keep up the good work, and ask yourself these questions.
What are the 3 – things that could prevent us from achieving our year end goals … and what if anything, should we do about it now?
What is one more thing we can do now that would have our customers stand up and cheer … and what if anything, is stopping us from doing it?
If you were our customer, what is the one reason you might stop buying from us next quarter … and what if anything should we do about it now?
Asking great questions is a powerful tool to keep you generating positive outcomes for your organizations.
It starts however, with the more basic question; which path are you on?
